8 Tips for Managing Your Sanity and Manifesting Happiness by Eliminating Clutter

If you’re going to grab 2020 by the proverbial balls and make it yours, you need to get organized.


“Clutter is an overabundance of possessions that collectively create chaotic and disorderly living spaces,” said Joseph Ferrari, a professor of psychology at DePaul University in Chicago who studies the causes of clutter and its impact on emotional well-being. And a cluttered home, researchers are learning, can be a stressful home. [1]

It much easier to manifest the life you truly desire when you rid yourself and your environment of chaos.

Here is your assignment:

We are going to start with organizing our tangible existence and then move into the intangible and get rid of everything that no longer serves us. We’ll go room by room and start with the kitchen so this isn’t such a daunting task. Join me…it will be worth it!

✅ Empty the junk drawer…honestly, when was the last time you actually retrieved (and not stuffed) something in there?

✅ Toss the biology experiments and expired condiments congregating in the refrigerator and wash the sticky shelves.

✅ Store the random kitchen gadgets you don’t use daily away and free the counter of unnecessary clutter. Trust me, the peace of mind is worth the extra 30 seconds.

✅ Repurpose the plethora of random Tupperware containers and accept the fact that the lids have run off with your unmatched socks, never to return.

✅ Tackle the pantry and donate any non-perishable random acquisitions that no longer align with your…ahem…healthy lifestyle.

✅ Organize (and wipe down) your cupboards and place your dishes strategically for efficient retrieval. (Ok…maybe that’s a little too OCD for most but hey…that’s me.)

✅ Donate any dishes and kitchen gadgets that you haven’t used in a year and give them a life of purpose with someone in need. Clearly if you’ve been neglecting them for the last year…you really don’t need them.

And finally…

✅ Alphabetize your spices…you’ll thank me later. Ok…maybe you won’t thank me, but at least you’ll be organized.
