Good question. Since embarking upon my Yoga journey, I have discovered a whole new world of holistic health and wellness. A world where my mind, body and soul can exist in alignment with and work together to produce the best version of me possible.
If you’ve never been to a Yoga class, experienced a Reiki session or practiced Feng Shui in your home, these concepts will likely be a little out there for you.
However, in the text below, I have compiled (from various sources) a Chakra demystification for you. Read through it with an open mind, and let me know your thoughts. 💜
Chakras (Sanskrit word for wheel) are Energy centres within the body that vibrate and spin to channel energy into the body and Meridians.
Originating in Chinese Medicine, the meridian healing system is based on the concept that an insufficient supply of Qi / Prana (or life force energy) makes a person vulnerable to disease. Restoring the qi to its optimal flow is the ultimate goal in restoring overall health and well being to the individual.
Meridian channels follow the same path that the autonomic nervous system does along the spine. This is also where the Chakras receive and transmit the Universal Energy into and from the body.
Together, your chakras represent your entire self: physical, spiritual and emotional. For this reason, they provide the means by which you can achieve overall balance in your life.
Balancing the chakras is believed to promote general health and well-being by ensuring the free flow of life energy (also known as prana or qi as noted above) throughout the body. It is believed that blockages in the flow of this vital energy will eventually result in mental, emotional, and/or physical illness.
In dealing with a blockage, you need to get the energy moving. When energy flows through the whole body it creates harmony and releases imbalances. Reiki assists with bringing the chakras into alignment and balance. ❤️
